Your safe, soft, & sacred landing place for whole-being & mental healthcare
I am a native Houstonian with over 15 years of experience in education, counseling, positive psychology and studying human behavior. Since 2018, I have lovingly & joyfully practiced as a school based mental health practitioner in primary and secondary schools. My heart beats for educators, black mamas, and black & brown children. My function is to be a guiding healer & support with the whole child, the whole parent/family, and the whole educator.
I am deeply passionate about healthy & thriving ecosystems in education, as well as mentally whole communities. I’m an advocate of body kindness, mental health care, life’s play, creating safe & brave spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth in schools, and intuitively sitting with communities to help heal in the spaces in between through mental health care.
Over the years my soul’s work has manifested in various forms. I have written personal development books, hosted empowerment gatherings, shared messages as a public speaker, served as an educator, school counselor, and mobilized on-ground support for marginalized communities in need both locally and abroad.
Today my soul’s work is manifesting through listening and looking at what’s here now to help heal as a therapist. Additionally, I engage in healing rituals, yoga + meditation, deep rest, sacred movement, unconditional love, counseling, sound healing, and being in life’s ease & grace. As a registered yoga teacher, I enjoy combining holistic wellness practices with mental health care for maximum whole body, mind, soul benefits.
I have recently transitioned full-time into mental health care as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Dr. Cheryl Ivory, LPC-S. I am currently developing my mental health & wellness practice, Root + Yoke Wellness that will be a fully functioning private practice upon completion of my LPC-Associate.
